U.S. Xpress hired HK Architects to redesign their company headquarters in Chattanooga to mirror the overhaul of their company culture. The project started with a programming exercise for 66,000 square feet with a goal to create a headquarters that embodied the new U.S. Xpress brand. Based on feedback from charrettes and surveys, HK Architects integrated a fresh and modern design while maintaining the original shell of the building and preserving elements such as mahogany wood accents.
This project is a high design tech-forward renovation that includes a space plan, elevations, finishes, furniture specification and project management. Additionally collaborative and breakout areas were added throughout the building. Elimination of cubicle spaces opened the office to include a mix of open workspaces and private offices.
